Lithuanian Teachers Seek 10% Salary Increase Ahead of National Strike

On 6 November, the Lithuanian Education Employees’ Trade Union warned that teachers could begin a nationwide strike on 16 November unless an agreement is reached on pay. The union is demanding a 10% increase in the coefficients used to calculate basic salaries; no total funding requirement has been announced. The dispute creates opportunities for education-sector workforce planning, salary benchmarking and professional training. HPC can support education research, HR assessments and institutional advisory.
